Public Information Meeting

Dorchester County and the Town of Summerville will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Summerville Elementary School. The meeting will be a drop-in format, and no formal presentation will be given. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about the projects, share conceptual plans, and to solicit the public’s feedback. The Main Street Improvements Projects are a collaborative initiative between Dorchester County and the Town of Summerville to enhance Main Street (US 17A) from Carolina Avenue to US Highway 78. The projects are designed to improve safety and traffic operations, strengthen corridor resiliency, and provide accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists.

A 30-day comment period for the project will begin on January 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. After the public meeting, all meeting materials will be posted here, and an online comment form will be available.
